| My partner, Tom and I took Becky in early last year. Sorry it's taken so long to update you guys on how she's doing with us, it's been a year full of changes! Since taking Becky, who we've affectionately renamed Little Miss, in we have relocated from Highgate to Bristol. Though i don't think Miss particularly enjoyed the car journey, I am happy to say she seems to thoroughly enjoy her much bigger and sunnier home! When we first met Little Miss we were amply forewarned that she had a tendency to lash out and was quite timid. Though the first few months with her were a bit tough at times (I, for one, am still sporting quite a few battle scars!), she has come so far from the cat we first took in. Within the first days and weeks it became really evident that though part of her was desperate for affection and strokes Miss had a hard time trusting people, making it difficult for her to accept attention without lashing out. Like a lot of people, she had some baggage. In her own time, though, Miss started to come out of her shell and I am happy to report that those days are long behind us! She has truly become part of the family (arguably the most vocal and bossy member, hence the new name!), and enjoys nothing more than getting a nice belly rub, following us around the flat chatting, playing with her toys (the cigar toy she came to us with is still her absolute favorite!) or getting in bed for a cuddle in the morning. I think Miss is truly evidence for anyone that might be apprehensive about taking in an older or timid rescue cat, that with time, patience and a lot of love, they are just as capable as any kitten of becoming a wonderful companion and member of the family. We would like to thank you so much for helping us find Little Miss! x Lizzie |
